Nigeria’s Power Generation Hits 5,713MW, Highest in Four Years

Nigeria’s Power Generation Hits 5,713MW, Highest in Four Years

Nigeria’s power generation has climbed to 5,713.60 megawatts, marking the highest output in four years, according to new statistics released by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). The company confirmed that the entire generated power was successfully transmitted across the national grid.  

The latest figure surpasses the previous peak of 5,543MW recorded on 14 February 2025. While it falls 88MW short of the all-time maximum peak of 5,801.60MW achieved on 1 March 2021, the TCN described it as a significant milestone in the country’s electricity supply.

Additionally, the maximum daily energy transmitted increased to 125,542.06 megawatt-hours, surpassing the 125,159.48MWh recorded last month. TCN says it remains committed to sustaining improved power transmission across the country.
