NIMC Directs NIN-SIM Complaints to Telecom Providers After Platform Upgrade

The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, has instructed Nigerians to direct all NIN-SIM related issues—such as SIM swaps, registration, and welcome-back services—to their respective mobile network operators.

This follows the successful migration of telecom operators to NIMC’s upgraded identity verification system, ‘NINAuth’, aimed at enhancing security, efficiency, and data control.

In a statement signed by spokesperson Mr Kayode Adegoke, NIMC assured the public that its Verification and Authentication Service platforms remain operational.

The new platform grants NIN holders greater control over personal data and ensures faster, secure authentication across public and private services.

Earlier in the month, millions of telecom subscribers faced service disruptions due to the platform switch. Operators blamed the technical hiccups on migration-related delays in accessing real-time identity verification during SIM-related transactions.
