The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa, has announced the agency’s ambitious plan to train over 10 million Nigerians in digital literacy each year.
Addressing participants at a three-day digital literacy skills training for public servants in Abuja on Wednesday, Mallam Inuwa highlighted the growing importance of digital competencies in the workforce. Citing a World Bank projection, he noted that by 2030, an estimated 35 to 45 percent of jobs in Nigeria will require proficiency in digital skills.

Mallam Inuwa underscored the importance of equipping government employees with the tools and knowledge to navigate the digital landscape effectively. He described the training initiative as a critical step towards enhancing the productivity and adaptability of public servants in an increasingly technology-driven world.
