Oil marketers have commenced the importation of petrol into Nigeria.
This was confirmed by Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority, NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed, at a crucial meeting of stakeholders in Lagos.

According to Mr Ahmed, of the 56 oil marketing companies that applied for licences, 10 demonstrated the commitment to import, while three others have already begun importing fuel into the nation.
He listed the three companies as A.Y. Ashafa, Prudent and Emadeb, which imported 59,000 litres, 15,000 litres and 30,000 litres, respectively.
