Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and head coach Justine Madugu have been nominated for honours at the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards. Nnadozie is shortlisted for the Women’s Yachine Trophy, while Madugu is in the running for the Women’s Team Coach of the Year.
Nnadozie, formerly of Paris FC and now with Brighton, is among five nominees including Ann-Katrin Berger, Cata Coll, Hannah Hampton and Daphne Van Domselaar. She was named goalkeeper of the tournament at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria defeated hosts Morocco 3-2 in the final in Rabat on July 26.

Madugu, who led Nigeria to their 10th WAFCON title, is nominated alongside Sonia Bompastor of Chelsea, Brazil’s Arthur Elias, Arsenal’s Renée Slegers, and England’s Sarina Wiegman. The 69th Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place on 22 September at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
Following their victory, President Bola Tinubu honoured the Super Falcons with national awards and financial gifts. Each player received the naira equivalent of $100,000 and a three-bedroom apartment, while the technical team received $50,000 each.
