NNPC Retail posts N395 billion loss for 2024

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC Limited has increased the pump price of petrol to ₦992 per litre in Lagos and ₦955 in Abuja. The new prices, observed on Monday across several NNPC outlets, represent a sharp rise from the August rates of ₦865 and ₦890 respectively.

In Lagos, motorists reported paying ₦992 per litre at the NNPC station on Ago Palace Way, while in Abuja, outlets in Kubwa and Lugbe sold petrol for ₦955.

The increase comes barely two months after the company reduced prices to reflect market adjustments. Industry observers say the latest hike may further strain household budgets and transport costs, as the government continues its market-based pricing policy following fuel subsidy removal.
