The Presidential Committee on Tax Reforms says newly enacted tax laws will help resolve long standing challenges in the aviation sector. Committee Chairman, Taiwo Oyedele, made the clarification while addressing concerns shortly after a television interview by Air Peace CEO, Allen Onyeama.
The committee said multiple taxation and regulatory charges have affected airline operations and ticket pricing and the reforms are designed to harmonise taxes and reduce the burden on operators.
It was explained that the laws aim to improve efficiency and transparency across sectors, including aviation. They said consultations were held with relevant agencies during the drafting process.
