The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has extended an invitation to former President Olusegun Obasanjo to tour the Port Harcourt Refinery in Rivers State, aiming to provide clarity on its operational status.
The move follows remarks made by the former president in a recent interview, during which he expressed doubts about the refinery’s operational capacity after its reported reactivation.

In response, the NNPCL highlighted its milestones in reviving the facility and called on the elder statesman to undertake a firsthand inspection. The gesture, the company stated, underscores its commitment to transparency and constructive engagement.
