One of the legs of veteran Nollywood actor, John Okafor fondly known as Mr Ibu, has been amputated.
A statement via the actor’s verified Instagram page yesterday said this was done in order to save his life, as he battles with a medical condition.
The statement also noted that the veteran actor has undergone seven successful surgeries and though his survival prospects are high, he is still in need of financial support from Nigerians.

Last month, Mr Ibu shared a video announcing to his fans that he was diagnosed with an illness which he did not disclose. According to him, his doctor had said if the prescribed medications fail, his leg will be amputated.
Some Nigerians came to his rescue, including the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation.
