Nigerian actress and media personality Ariyiike Owolagba, widely known as Ariyiike Dimples, has disclosed that she stopped attending church for three years after being publicly criticised over her outfit. Speaking on the *Open Up* podcast, she recalled an elderly church member telling her she would “go to hell” for wearing a pencil skirt, a comment she said left her shocked and deeply frustrated.
The actress explained that the church environment was dominated by older members whose strict doctrinal views often alienated younger worshippers. The incident was even reported to her parents, prompting her to avoid the community church to escape further judgement.

Despite the experience, Ariyiike emphasised that she remains a practising Christian, insisting that faith should not depend on harsh scrutiny or dress-shaming.
