Veteran Nigerian actor Norbert Young has been appointed head of the jury for the 2025 Theatremania Africa Festival, TAF, Awards.
Young will preside over a five-member panel, which includes Lydia Gifty Hagan from Ghana as secretary, Kehny Obafemi from Canada as publicist, as well as Mamela J. Aisha J. Rafahlema from South Africa and Jacinta MacJob from Nigeria.
Speaking on behalf of the jury, Young expressed appreciation for the role and pledged a fair and credible selection process across the festival’s 20 award categories.

The festival, scheduled for October 2025 in Lagos, will feature a range of activities, including ‘Thespian Nite’, ‘Street Theatre’, a ‘Stakeholders Roundtable’, and the ‘Awards Night’.
TAF co-founder and chief executive, Alayande Stephen, said preparations were underway to bring theatre practitioners from across Africa together for a successful event.
