North-East Governors Urge Tinubu to Complete Key Road Projects

North-East governors have urged President Bola Tinubu to prioritise the completion of 17 major road projects and resume oil exploration in frontier wells, including Kolmani and Lake Chad. The call was made during a meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday.

The delegation, led by Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, also included Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, and Agbu Kefas of Taraba. The governors said the projects are critical to regional integration, security, and economic growth.

Governor Zulum, who chairs the North-East Governors’ Forum, commended President Tinubu for his commitment to restoring peace in the region. He pledged support for federal initiatives on manpower training and technology adoption, saying they align with the government’s renewed hope agenda for food security and counter-insurgency.

Responding, President Tinubu acknowledged the concerns and assured the governors of his administration’s commitment to addressing the developmental needs of the North-East.
