NSC Restructures Sports Federations, Reassigns 57 Secretaries

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has redeployed 57 Secretaries-General and sports officers to various National Sports Federations in a bid to reposition the country’s sports sector. The reassignment, which includes five additional officers, was disclosed by Olumide Bamiduro, Director of the Federation of Elite Athletes, in a statement issued on Friday in Abuja.

Bamiduro explained that the decision aligns with the vision of NSC Chairman Shehu Dikko and Director-General Bukola Olopade, aimed at revitalising and improving the performance of the sports sector. He also confirmed that the Federation Establishment and Appointment Department has been instructed to implement the new postings.

The directive is part of the NSC’s broader strategy to enhance the functionality of sports federations nationwide. Affected federations include Athletics, Handball, Para-Sports, Basketball, Badminton, Boxing, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volleyball, and Wrestling, among others.
