NSCDC Deploys 6,000 Officers for Ondo State Governorship Election Security

In preparation for the Ondo State governorship election on November 16, 2024, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 6,000 officers to ensure robust security measures are in place.

Ahmed Audi, Commandant General of the NSCDC, announced on Sunday that personnel would be drawn from Ondo and surrounding states, including Ekiti, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Lagos, Edo, and Delta. The officers will be responsible for safeguarding critical national infrastructure, protecting Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, and overseeing the secure distribution of electoral materials.

The deployment will extend across all 18 Local Government Areas, 203 Wards, and 3,933 polling units, encompassing coastal and inland regions of Ondo State.
