NSCDC officers missing after terrorist attack on outpost in Niger State

An unspecified number of officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps are missing following a terrorist attack on an outpost in Ibrahim Leteh village along the Wawa–Lumma road in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State. The attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday.

Residents say the attackers arrived in large numbers and opened fire on the civil defence officers at about 4am, forcing some of them to flee. Some rifles belonging to the officers were also taken during the attack.

The spokesperson of the Niger State Command of the NSCDC, Abubakar Rabiu, said the command was aware of the report but was yet to establish the full details. He said investigations were ongoing to determine what happened at the outpost.
