The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has said it will discipline and prosecute an officer of the command, Maikano Sarkin-Tasha, who was arrested for allegedly supplying ammunition and hard drugs to bandits in the North-Western state.
Officer Sarkin-Tasha was arrested by the police on suspicion of supplying ammunition and hard drugs to bandits around the Mada district of Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
Speaking to newsmen at the command headquarters in Gusau, the NSCDC State Commandant, Sani Mustapha,while condemning the officer’s actions, noted that the very same officer had been reported for an irresponsible attitude to work and efforts to track him yielded no fruit.
The suspect was arrested at a checkpoint between Damba and Sabon Gida axis while he was in transit to his hometown, Mada.
