The National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC) has commenced a nationwide Quality Assurance Monitoring and Evaluation exercise, beginning in Kaduna State. The initiative is aimed at raising education standards in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at the launch held at the Federal Government College, Malali, NSSEC Executive Secretary Dr Iyela Ajayi said the programme would assess school performance, identify gaps, and enhance teaching and learning outcomes nationwide.

He explained that the monitoring would benchmark schools against National Minimum Standards for Senior Secondary Education, approved by the National Council of Education in 2024.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Professor Muhammad Bello, welcomed the initiative, pledging full state support and emphasising the importance of collaboration between state and federal authorities to transform the education sector.
