The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says normalcy has returned to Rivers State following six months of political turmoil that led to emergency rule.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Radio Now’s Newsdesk, he disclosed that he spoke with Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Wednesday, ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s decision to lift the suspension of the state’s leadership.

Minister Wike insisted that reconciliation has been achieved, stressing that he has forgiven his successor and that both sides are now committed to moving the state forward. He described the recent actions of the House of Assembly as a clear sign of renewed stability.
He criticised those he accused of exploiting the crisis for political advantage, saying they provide no real solutions. The minister maintained that the President’s intervention was decisive and credited with restoring calm, urging all stakeholders to focus on peace and development.
