Ogun Fire Service Cites Traffic Congestion, Lack of Emergency Calls for Delayed Ibafo Fire Response

Mr. Fatai Adefala, Director of the Ogun State Fire Service, has attributed the delayed response to the tanker fire incident in Ibafo on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway to severe traffic congestion and the failure of residents to call the emergency line promptly.

In an interview with Radio Now’s Oluwatosin Ejalonibu, Mr. Adefala confirmed that the state has two fire stations along the expressway, located in the Isheri area and Mowe, both of which were hindered by the traffic situation during the incident.

Recall that the fire erupted after a tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) overturned in front of a commercial bank, spilling its contents and leading to a blaze along the Ibafo section of the expressway.
