Nurses in Ogun State on Thursday protested the assault of a colleague by Adekunle Nurudeen, a medical doctor at the State hospital, Ijaiye in Abeokuta, the State Capital.
The Nurses who came out en masse demanded justice for their colleague who is a final year nursing student and was allegedly slapped by a consultant orthopaedic surgeon.
The state Chairman of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Adejoke Bello who spoke to journalists during the protest has this to say:
Dr. Olubunmi Osonaike, the Chief Medical Director of the State Hospital Ijaiye while addressing the crowd promised that the situation will not be swept under the carpet.

Although the protest might be over, nurses in Ogun will be on the lookout for the government actions on this situation
