Plateau United beat Shooting Stars 4-1 at the New Jos Stadium on Sunday, with technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote praising his players for their performance.
Ogunbote, who managed Shooting Stars for two years before leaving last season, said his encouragement and motivation helped the team deliver the win against his former club.
He described it as a joy to defeat a team he knows well and added that his players responded positively to the preparation and guidance ahead of the match.
