Former Super Eagles midfielder Seyi Olofinjana has thrown his support behind Kelechi Iheanacho, urging patience as the forward seeks to rediscover his form at Middlesbrough following a difficult spell in Spain.
Iheanacho, who moved to Sevilla on a free transfer from Leicester City last summer, endured a frustrating six months in La Liga, failing to register a league goal. Sevilla’s Sporting Director, Victor Orta, has since conceded that the decision to sign the Nigerian international may have been a misjudgment.

Olofinjana, however, believes Iheanacho was not given the right conditions to succeed, noting that the player’s quality remains evident.
The 28-year-old joined Middlesbrough on loan in January and has since begun to rebuild momentum under Michael Carrick. He has registered one goal and two assists in his last three starts, offering glimpses of the form that once made him a standout at Manchester City.
