Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the employment of 1,010 secondary school teachers following the completion of the recruitment process by the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM). The exercise, which screened thousands of applicants last year, aims to address the shortage of teachers in public schools.
In a statement, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, announced that the list of successful candidates will be published online on Monday. It will also be displayed at TESCOM headquarters and zonal offices across the state from Tuesday.

Adeniyan advised only successful candidates to begin their documentation immediately. He also noted that while the final list for secondary school teachers has been approved, the recruitment process for 1,000 primary school teachers is still being finalised.
Governor Aiyedatiwa had previously authorised the recruitment of 2,000 teachers—1,000 for secondary schools and another 1,000 for primary schools—to strengthen the state’s education sector.
