Ondo Pilgrims Undergo Mandatory Vaccination Ahead of 2025 Hajj

Health authorities in Ondo State have begun the immunisation of prospective pilgrims against yellow fever and meningitis, as part of preparations for the 2025 Hajj.

The state’s Muslim Welfare Board confirmed that 720 individuals are being vaccinated in line with international health requirements. The exercise, which commenced on Wednesday, is being supervised by the board’s chairman, Dhikirulahi Chaddy-Adam.

Officials say the vaccines are mandatory, with Saudi Arabian authorities expected to deny entry to any pilgrim without valid proof of immunisation. The measure is part of broader efforts to safeguard public health during the annual pilgrimage.

Prospective pilgrims have also been urged to approach the journey with sincerity, devotion, and a heightened sense of spiritual responsibility.
