One Dead, Four Injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accidents

Motorists on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway faced severe gridlock on Wednesday morning following multiple accidents on the Kara Bridge, outward Lagos. The crashes involved seven vehicles, including container-laden trucks and commercial buses.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed that one person died, while four others sustained injuries in the first crash, which occurred around midnight due to overspeeding. The second crash followed shortly after, though no fatalities were reported.

Rescue efforts involved FRSC officials, police officers, and operatives from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), who worked to clear the wreckage and ease traffic flow.

The FRSC commander urged motorists to remain calm, consider alternative routes, or delay trips where possible as recovery operations continue.
