At least one person has been injured after a diesel tanker overturned and caught fire in Lagos State. The explosion happened on Thursday morning along the Abeokuta Expressway, inward Agege.
Witnesses say fuel spilled into nearby drainages and caught fire, prompting some residents to gather at the scene despite warnings from emergency workers.
The Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed the incident. He said the fully loaded tanker overturned before bursting into flames.

Dr Oke-Osanyintolu said the fire has now been contained and the burning fuel in the drainage cleared. He confirmed that one man sustained burn injuries and is receiving treatment, adding that no deaths were recorded.
