Ortom Government Left Me With No Official Car- Benue Governor

The Benue State Governor, Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia, says he was left without a single official car when he assumed his duties at the state government house.

He made this revelation in a response to calls by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state asking for a reversal of his decision to nullify all last-minute appointments made by his predecessor, Samuel Ortom.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Tersoo Kula,  the Governor also said he inherited an empty treasury and a debt profile of over N187 billion as well as an accumulation of months of unpaid salaries and entitlements of civil servants and pensioners in the state.

The statement says the administration has uncovered what they call the highest level of rot ever witnessed in the history of Benue State.

Governor Alia called on the PDP to apologise to the people of the state.
