Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has undergone successful surgery on a fractured right forearm sustained during Galatasaray’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 defeat to Liverpool FC. The club confirmed the procedure on Monday, saying it was carried out at Maslak Acıbadem Hospital in Istanbul by team doctor Yener İnce without complications.
The injury occurred in the first half of the match at Anfield following a mid-air collision with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté. Osimhen initially continued playing with a strapped arm but was later withdrawn at half-time as a precaution.
The 27-year-old, who spoke while recovering in Nigeria before the operation, described the injury as less serious than previous setbacks and said Konaté had contacted him after the incident. Club officials say rehabilitation has now begun.
