Victor Osimhen has reacted after helping Galatasaray eliminate Juventus in the UEFA Champions League playoff round. Despite a 3-2 defeat on the night at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, the Turkish champions advanced to the round of 16 with a 7-5 aggregate victory.
Osimhen scored in extra time to swing momentum back in Galatasaray’s favour and secure qualification. The striker later admitted he was pleased with the result but disappointed with his team’s overall performance, noting there is room for improvement ahead of the next round.
The goal was historic, taking Osimhen to 13 European goals for Galatasaray and making him the club’s highest scoring foreign player in continental competitions. He was also named Man of the Match for his impact across both legs of the tie.
