In a bid to ensure that students are given quality education across the state, the Osun state government has shut down 23 private schools for operating without required standards. They are guilty of offences ranging from unhygienic teaching environment, staffing unqualified teachers, non-renewal of licenses and in some cases, operating without a license.

The state’s Commissioner for Education, Folorunso Oladoyin, while supervising the closure of the schools yesterday, said the sealing off of the affected schools is part of the government’s efforts to sanitize the education sector for better results while advising private schools, which are not properly registered with the state’s Ministry of Education, to do so as soon as possible because the government will not condone any act that can sabotage its resolve to give Osun students the best.
