Over 170 Worshippers Abducted in Kaduna Church Raid

Troops arrest two over murder of Catholic priest in Kaduna

Bandits have abducted more than 170 worshippers during attacks on ECWA and Cherubim and Seraphim churches in Kurmin Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The raid occurred during Sunday services, according to witnesses.

Rev. Joseph John Hayab, Northern CAN Chairman, confirmed that nine of the abducted worshippers have returned home while 163 remain with their captors.

He described the situation as “very tough and sad” but urged patience, stating that security agencies and the government are working towards restoring peace and ensuring the safe release of the victims.

Authorities in Kaduna State, including the police, have not yet issued official statements on the incident, as efforts continue to secure the return of those still held by the bandits.
