Palestinians are seeking billions of dollars in emergency aid to address the humanitarian crisis caused by Israeli bombardment, with urgent needs ranging from heavy machinery to clear rubble to temporary housing for the displaced.
A Palestinian Authority official estimates that $6.5 billion is required immediately to provide shelter for Gaza’s more than two million residents before long-term reconstruction can begin. Hamas has outlined an urgent need for 200,000 tents and 60,000 caravans to house the homeless population.Â

U.S. special Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff has suggested that rebuilding efforts could take between 10 and 15 years. Meanwhile, humanitarian support is increasing. The World Food Programme reports that food imports into Gaza have surged since the ceasefire, now reaching two to three times their pre-truce levels.
