The Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has called on President Bola Tinubu to urgently sign the bill establishing the South-South Development Commission, warning that further delays could undermine peace and economic progress in the region.
Addressing a news conference in Abuja, PANDEF’s National Publicity Secretary, Olorogun Obiuwevbi Ominimini, said the forum issued a firm statement following an emergency meeting on 5 February, stressing the need for swift presidential assent.

He cautioned that withholding approval could foster a sense of exclusion and marginalization among the people of the South-South.
PANDEF maintains that the bill, once enacted, will drive regional development and serve as a vital complement to the Niger Delta Development Commission.
