The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, says the crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is over for now, following the exit of some party stalwarts. He made the comment during a media parley in Abuja on Monday.
Wike, however, acknowledged that unresolved issues remain within the party and warned that lasting peace depends on how they are addressed. He emphasised that the South-South zonal congress must be upheld for progress to continue.

The former Rivers State governor noted that Chief Dan Orbih emerged as the National Vice Chairman from the congress held in Calabar, a process he said was backed by a court ruling. He also criticised those questioning the legitimacy of the exercise.
Wike added that any attempts to challenge the congress result could reignite internal conflicts within the PDP. He questioned the absence of PDP governors who earlier claimed not to support the zonal congress.
