The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, says the scarcity of petrol in the Federal Capital Territory is due to a logistics hitch affecting the supply of petroleum products across the country.
Several filling stations, including some belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, were shut, as customers were told there was no fuel.
Many commuters in the city were stranded at major bus stops, with only a few taxis available to transport passengers. The available transporters increased the fares payable by passengers.

Abubakar Maigandi, the National President of IPMAN, said that the NNPCL had just met with the association and assured them of enough supply of petroleum.
The scarcity in Kaduna saw black market vendors selling the product for over N1,000 per liter on Thursday, as a majority of fuel stations were not dispensing.
