Petrol Prices Rise at NNPC Outlets Despite Dangote Cut

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC, Limited has adjusted pump prices for petrol, with Lagos outlets now selling at ₦915 per litre and Abuja stations at ₦955—both representing significant increases.

The Cable reports that at NNPC’s Abule Ado outlet in Lagos, the price climbed from ₦865 to ₦915. Similar adjustments were observed at other outlets along Ago Palace Way, Okota. In Abuja, petrol now sells for ₦955 per litre at the Kubwa Expressway station, up from ₦890.

This comes despite Dangote Refinery cutting its ex-depot price to ₦820 per litre in July—its second reduction in a month.

Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Statistics reports that Jigawa, Ondo, and Lagos recorded the highest average retail prices in June, while Yobe, Kogi, and Imo posted the lowest.

Analysts say the latest adjustments could tighten household budgets already strained by inflation.
