The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the Ilu-Abo area of Akure North Local Government Area. The arrests followed intelligence-led operations after a recent attack on the community.
Police spokesperson, Abayomi Jimoh, said one of the suspects, identified as Abenaguna Muhammad, was apprehended on January 29 by residents of Ilu-Abo while in possession of suspected criminal charms. He was subsequently handed over to police operatives for investigation.
Jimoh said interrogation of the suspect led to the arrest of three other alleged members of the syndicate, identified as Lanre, also known as Lanre Tomato, Ojo, and Pius. The suspects were linked to kidnapping activities along the Ala and Ilu-Abo axis.
