The Lagos State Police Command has arrested TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, following a viral video showing him driving recklessly during a live broadcast that ended in a crash in Lagos.
Police spokesman Abimbola Adebisi said the arrest followed public outcry over the incident, which occurred on December 14, 2025, and described the act as a serious risk to public safety and other road users.
The command said the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough investigation, after describing the incident as extremely dangerous and potentially fatal.

The Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, warned social media influencers and the public against using online platforms to promote illegal or dangerous acts, saying offenders would be prosecuted in line with the law, while the Federal Road Safety Corps has also ordered Peller’s prosecution.
