The Lagos State Police Command has arrested two Benin Republic citizens over alleged car theft.
Speaking on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspects, Kosoko Rafiu and Nunayo Sunayo, were arrested while attempting to escape with a vehicle along Mile 2/Badagry Expressway on Tuesday.
SP Hundeyin said the suspects stole the vehicle at a function in the Anthony Village area of the state, and during investigation, the suspects confessed that they came from the Republic of Benin to steal vehicles in Nigeria.

The Police PRO also said that the suspects specialised in stealing vehicles from functions in Nigeria and escaping with them to their country.
