The Nigeria police has dismissed two special constables, Jimoh Lukmon and Kareem Fatai, who were caught in a viral video trying to extort money from a Dutch tourist who was on the way to Abuja on her motorbike.
Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat, pronounced their dismissal at the state’s Police Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan yesterday.
Lukmon and Fatai, who were on duty along Moniya-Iseyin road were seen in the video demanding money from the woman.

Following the incident the two Special Constables were arrested and a disciplinary procedure was instituted.
The Commissioner, who affirmed the recommended punishment of dismissal for the pair, said they ceased to be members of the Special Constabulary with immediate effect, and he hoped that their dismissal will serve as a deterrent to others.
