The Nigeria Police Force says it has foiled an attempted kidnapping of 76 children in the Kasuwan Magani area of Kaduna. The Kaduna police command acted after receiving intelligence that suspected bandits were planning to attack motorists transporting children.
Police officers engaged the attackers rescuing 76 boys and girls, aged seven to twenty, without injury. Three suspects, identified as Jonathan John, 25, Oliver Magaji, 27, and Bitrus Sawaba, 23, were arrested during the operation.

Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were moving the children to different parts of the country for child labour and domestic work. The rescued children are being held at the command headquarters while efforts are made to reunite them with their parents, and further investigations are ongoing.
