The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved a two-day intensive training programme for personnel billed for deployment during the 2023 governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States.
In a statement yesterday, the Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the training is intended to improve the personnel’s ability to maintain peace, order, and security during the electoral process.

He added that in order to ensure the safety of voters, electoral officials, candidates, and the general public during the off-season elections, the Nigerian Police Force will work closely with other relevant security agencies, electoral partners, and the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Officer Adejobi called on all residents and stakeholders to extend their full cooperation to the Police and other law enforcement agents deployed for the election duty to achieve a peaceful and transparent electoral process.
