Police Launch Investigation After Christ Apostolic Church Attack in Kwara

The Inspector-General of Police has deployed a Force Intelligence Directorate team to Eruku in Kwara State’s Ekiti Local Government Area following a deadly attack on the Christ Apostolic Church. Officers, led by senior intelligence officer Ibo Sam, inspected the church and interviewed victims, as the IGP vowed to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, bandits struck nearby Isapa, abducting 11 residents—including pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children—after a raid by over 20 gunmen. Expended shells and bullet-damaged properties were recovered.

The latest assault follows the earlier church attack in which three worshippers were killed and 38 abducted; all were later released through coordinated efforts involving the President and security agencies.

Church leaders encouraged members to attend Sunday services, describing the attacks as a test of faith, while security agencies continue operations in the area.
