Police Pause Tinted Glass Permit Enforcement After Interim Court Order

The Nigeria Police Force has suspended the enforcement of the tinted glass permit policy nationwide. The decision follows a court order restraining the police from implementing the policy.

Force Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin said the suspension is temporary and intended to allow the police to study the court ruling. He said officers have been directed to stop arresting motorists over tinted glass permits.

He noted that the police introduced the policy for security reasons, citing the use of tinted vehicles in criminal activities. He said the force remains committed to public safety while respecting the rule of law.
