Police Rescue Kidnap Victim, Recover Arms and Millions in Cash

Police Reunite 35 Kidnap Victims with Families in Niger State

The Nigeria Police Force says it has recorded major breakthroughs against kidnapping following operations in Akwa Ibom and Nasarawa States.

In Eket, operatives from two divisions, supported by local youths, rescued a man identified as Emerson after a kidnapping attempt. Two suspects were arrested and ₦6 million, arms and ammunition recovered. A further search of a nearby hideout uncovered rifles, magazines, live cartridges and mobile phones linked to the gang.

In Nasarawa, police responding to a car crash discovered rifles, ammunition and ₦6.9 million hidden in a vehicle. One suspect, linked to a kidnap-for-ransom gang, was later arrested in collaboration with the military.

The Force described these coordinated operations as evidence of renewed determination under Inspector-General Kayode Egbetokun to dismantle criminal networks and ensure kidnappers have no safe haven in Nigeria.
