The Police Service Commission, PSC, has approved the dismissal of two Assistant Superintendents of Police over allegations of corruption and misconduct.
Announcing the decision on Monday at the commission’s headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, Hashimu Argungu, a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, said the officers were found guilty of misconduct, dishonesty, sabotage, and other actions deemed unbecoming of public officials.
While the identities of the dismissed officers were not disclosed, Mr. Argungu confirmed that six other officers faced disciplinary action. These include two Superintendents of Police, whose ranks were reduced to Deputy Superintendents, one Deputy Superintendent demoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent, and three Assistant Superintendents demoted to the rank of Inspectors.
