Pope Francis has described the humanitarian crisis in Gaza as ‘extremely grave,’ urging for an immediate ceasefire and the release of captives in the war-stricken enclave.
Delivering his Christmas address on Wednesday, the 88-year-old pontiff, marking his 12th Christmas at the helm of the Catholic Church, also issued heartfelt calls for peace in Ukraine and Sudan.

The Pope extended his appeal to other conflict-ridden regions, including Lebanon, Mali, Mozambique, Haiti, Venezuela, and Nicaragua, imploring an end to political, social, and military strife.
