Potential Tragedy in Fuel Scooping Incident Averted in Taraba Following Tanker Crash

Authorities in Jalingo, Taraba State, narrowly averted a potential tragedy on Wednesday when youths attempted to scoop fuel from a fallen tanker at Mile 6. This comes just three days after nearly 100 lives were lost in a similar tanker explosion in Niger State.

Swift action by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and the police dispersed the crowd before any harm occurred. Speaking on the incident, Mr. Illia Samuel, spokesperson for the Taraba NSCDC Command, confirmed that the tanker driver sustained injuries and was promptly taken to a hospital for treatment.
