President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to eight bills passed by the National Assembly, including the National Social Investment Programme Agency bill and the National Senior Secondary Education bill.
The National Social Investment Programme Agency Act establishes an agency to assist and empower the poor and vulnerable in the country.Â
It provides a legal and institutional framework for the establishment and management of the National Social Investment.

Commenting on the National Senior Secondary Education Act, the Senior Special Assistant to The President on National Assembly Matters, Senate, says the act establishes a Commission; and also prescribes minimum standards for senior secondary education.
It also establishes the management of the National Senior Secondary Education Fund.Â
Some of the other bills signed by the President include the Chartered Institute of Power Engineers of Nigeria Act and the Institute of Strategic Management of Nigeria Act.
