President Bola Tinubu has appointed several prominent figures to key positions in various government agencies. Abdullahi Ganduje, Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has been named board chairman of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), while APC National Secretary, Senator Bashiru Ajibola, will lead the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC). The appointments were announced in a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday.
In addition to Ganduje and Ajibola, former Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Sulaiman Argungu, has been appointed chairman of the Nigeria Bulk Electricity Trading Company. Another notable appointment is that of Magnus Abe, a former Senator from Rivers South-East and long-time ally of President Tinubu, who will head the National Agency for the Great Green Wall, an initiative aimed at addressing desertification.
